Why Not Underestimate Yogurt?

CHAPTERS (Table Of Contents)

If you do not have lactose intolerance, avoiding yogurt is completely unreasonable.

With the exception of cases of lactose intolerance or allergy , all other cases in which yogurt is intentionally excluded from our daily menu are completely unfounded. The fermented product, traditional for the Bulgarian table for centuries, has a number of health benefits. For some of them, yogurt is an unsurpassed product and we can safely declare it a food that we should consume daily.

Protein

For those leading an active lifestyle, a protein supply is a key moment for muscle recovery and strengthening. For all others, protein is an indispensable part of the diet, guaranteeing the daily needs of the body. The highest content in yogurt is casein and various forms of albumin - proteins that make yogurt one of the richest in protein foods.

Calcium and Magnesium If we

neglect yogurt, we lose one of the simplest, most complete and affordable sources of calcium and magnesium. A bucket of quality yogurt provides about 75% of daily calcium needs and about 20% of the magnesium we need for the day.

Vitamins

Along with important minerals, yogurt is rich in vitamins, some of them - in high doses. A standard bucket of yogurt provides about 30-40% of the required daily dose of  vitamin B12 and about 50% of vitamin B2. In addition, this amount is enough to take half the daily dose of vitamin D.

Probiotics

With the growing popularity of beneficial probiotic bacteria, yogurt is establishing itself as one of their main natural sources.

The fact is that the useful properties of yogurt as a natural probiotic depend mainly on the culture with which the milk is fermented, and the traditional for Bulgarian yogurt cultures of lactobacilli and streptococci are among the most useful probiotics. They stimulate the natural intestinal flora and help maintain digestive function and immunity, as well as deal with various types of vaginitis and vaginal candidiasis in women.

A bucket of yogurt can become a universal and much more useful substitute for everyone's afternoon snack. There is even evidence that low-fat yogurts accelerate weight loss in people who follow a diet, which makes them an even more universal choice for food that is present daily on our table.
