  • 235 mg potassium;
  • 26-27 mg of calcium;
  • 22-26 mg phosphorus;
  • 1-2 mg sodium
  • 0.3-0.5 mg of iron;
  • 30-53 mg vitamin C;
  • 30 mg beta-carotene;
  • 0.04-0.07 mg vitamin B1;
  • 0.02 mg vitamin B2;
  • 0.2-0.3 mg vitamin B5;
  • significant amount of folic acid.

Useful properties of pomelo fruit

The high content of vitamin C and essential oils in the fruit helps in the fight against viral diseases and is a good prophylaxis against influenza. Antioxidants (including limonoids and vitamin A) stop the division of cancer cells and thus prevent the appearance and development of tumors.

Pomelo has a beneficial effect on the digestive system, as it contains a number of enzymes that play an important role in the breakdown of fats and proteins. For this reason and due to its low caloric content, the fruit is widely used in various diets for weight loss.

The Chinese and Malays make medicines from fruits, seeds, flowers, ripe peel and pre-dried fresh fruit. These remedies are used to prevent abdominal pain, cough, edema, vomiting, upset stomach and hangover.

The fetus is useful for the prevention of atherosclerosis, its juice is used to treat hypertension, and the folic acid it contains is necessary for the normal course of pregnancy and for the development of the fetus.
