Stuffed cabbage is a favorite dish of many, but not everyone knows how to properly prepare cabbage leaves for cabbage rolls. We will show 2 ways: in the microwave and in the pan.
Everyone loves cabbage rolls, but, alas, this dish cannot be called fast. And they just don’t come up with anything to save time when cooking cabbage rolls. Here we will tell you how easy it is to prepare cabbage leaves, how to better and quickly cut a head of cabbage, so that this stage of cooking can be done as correctly as possible.
How to prepare cabbage for cabbage rolls in the microwave
This can be done faster and safer in the microwave than in boiling water. This method has been used for a long time, so you can call it proven. It is enough to place fresh cabbage in the microwave at maximum power for no more than 5-7 minutes, and it will be easy to remove one sheet after another. If cabbage leaves become more difficult with each layer, you can send the head of cabbage to the microwave for another 5 minutes, after which you can easily peel the remaining leaves.
Recipes with the ingredient white cabbage
Step 1
For work, we need 1 head of cabbage, a saucepan, water (3 liters), a knife.
Step 2
Wash the cabbage and cut the stalk with a sharp knife.
Step 3
Bring water to a boil.
Step 4
Put a head of cabbage into boiling water and boil for 5-7 minutes, periodically turning the cabbage in the water “from head to toe”.
Step 5
After a while, the top sheets will become slightly transparent and will easily separate from the head.
Step 6
They are carefully removed with a fork and the procedure is repeated with the remaining leaves.
Step 7
In the cooled leaves, you need to cut off thick veins or lightly beat them off with a culinary hammer.

The leaves are ready to go.
Step 1
For work, we need cabbage, microwave dishes, a knife, a kitchen board, a food bag (you can use a large microwave dish with a lid instead of a bag).
Step 2
Wash cabbage. Cut out the stem.
Step 3
Wrap the cabbage in a bag and place in a microwave-safe dish.
Step 4
Cook at maximum power for 15-20 minutes (depending on the size of the cabbage). Let cool. Expand the package.
Step 5
Remove finished leaves. If you see that the lower leaves are not completely steamed yet, send the cabbage in the bag for a few more minutes in the microwave.
Step 6
The leaves are ready to go.
