Use

Iron lactate is used in the food industry in the production of dietary products, also to fix the black color of olives. In pharmacy it is used in the form of a drug, which is used in therapies and prevention against iron deficiency anemia.

Impact on humans

The substance increases the level of iron in the blood, eliminates the anemic syndrome (weakness, dizziness, exhaustion), stimulates hematopoietic function. Side effects from the use of the product are: dyspepsia (nausea, vomiting), headache. The dietary supplement leads to the formation of tumors in experiments performed on mice after subcutaneous administration. For humans, it is considered relatively safe when added to food.
