But why buy salted herring in the store if you can pickle it at home? So you will be sure of the quality and freshness of the fish that you serve.

We offer you 8 ways to quickly and tasty pickle herring without much effort.

 

1. The classic way of salting in brine.

To prepare brine for 1 herring, you will need:

half a liter of water 1 tbsp. a spoonful of salt 0.5 teaspoon sugar 2 bay leaves salt and pepper to taste, you can add cloves

Heat the water when it boils, add spices and leave on fire for another 5 minutes, then cool the brine. Cook the fish, clean, do not forget to rinse and dry. Put the herring in a container, fill with brine so that it completely covers the fish, and refrigerate for 2-3 days.

2. Salting herring without water.

 

To pickle herring without water, you only need 1 fish and spices for it: 1 tbsp. salt, 1 teaspoon sugar, black pepper and fish seasoning to taste.

Gut the herring, rinse and dry with a paper towel. Then coat well with spices, wrap tightly in a bag and refrigerate for 2-3 days.

3. Salting herring using brine and mustard.

For the brine you will need:

half a liter of water 1.5 tbsp. spoons of salt 1 tbsp. spoonful of sugar 1 tbsp. a spoonful of dry mustard 3 bay leaves pepper to taste

Put the water on the fire, as soon as it boils, add spices (no mustard) and leave for 4 minutes, then cool. Wipe the gutted herring prepared in advance with mustard, put it in a container, fill it with brine and send it to the refrigerator for 2-3 days.

4. Salting herring in oil.

 

For herring in oil, you will need a minimum of ingredients:

1 fish 1 onion 100 ml vegetable oil 3.5 tbsp. tablespoons salt pepper to taste

It is better to cut the peeled herring into small pieces, cut the onion arbitrarily. Put the herring and onion in layers in the prepared container, sprinkling each layer with spices. Fill the fish with oil, close tightly and refrigerate for 2 days.

5. Salted herring with lemon under pressure.

For such a salting you will need:

1 herring 1 small lemon 2-3 tbsp. tablespoons of salt 1-1.5 tbsp. spoons of sugar pepper and cloves to taste

7. Salting herring in 3 hours.

Add spices to hot water, let cool. Cut the fish into thin slices, put in a container, fill with brine, send to the refrigerator. After 2 hours, drain the brine, add 2 tbsp. tablespoons of vinegar and oil, and refrigerate for another 1 hour. You can add onions to the dish.

8. Salting herring in vinegar using spices for fish.

 

For salting you will need the following ingredients:

1 herring 1 onion 2 tbsp. spoons of salt 1 tbsp. spoonful of sugar 2 tbsp. spoons of any spices for fish 100 ml of water 5 tbsp. tablespoons of vinegar

Put the chopped fish, onion in a container, sprinkle with spices, pour water and vinegar. Refrigerate overnight, drizzle with oil before serving.
