What To Avoid When Eating Out

Most people regularly have to eat away from home. It is very important to follow the safety rules.

Most people regularly have to eat away from home. It is very important to follow the safety rules.

At work, in educational institutions, on the road, during vacations and trips, on business trips, in restaurants, cafes, during long trips - in general, there are many situations when we had to eat away from home, and each of us has time for them from time to time. Therefore, it is important for everyone to know the basic principles of eating outside the home and, of course, always keep a list of "forbidden" foods in your head.

Of course, you can ignore these rules and eat something that is forbidden, but in this case such a nuisance as an upset stomach with all the ensuing consequences can happen. Is a minute weakness worth such discomfort? Isn't it better to learn to choose healthy and safe food wherever life throws us?

Top 10 prohibited products outside the home

  • Fast food

There are two main options for fast food when we are "away from home". The first is various fast food joints, where they serve high-calorie and low-quality food, such as French fries. The second is food bought "from a tray". These are all dubious pies, blondies and other "cholesterol bombs".

  • Vending machines

You can see a lot of everything from sandwiches with fresh sausage and cheese to hamburgers and chocolate bars. It is better to stay away from this junk food and teach the same to children.

  • Fatty products

Sauces, mayonnaise, oil - give up this delicacy when you are outside the house. Firstly, one should always question their freshness, and secondly, it is a mass of empty calories. If you eat in a restaurant, ask for the sauce to be served separately or dress the salad with olive oil and lemon. Much more useful and safer.

The same can be said about fat ice cream - a much better choice is frozen juice, which contains almost no calories and is perfectly refreshing. Just make sure that the children do not eat these delicacies in pieces - a sore throat in the height of summer, and even more so on vacation, is an unpleasant force majeure.

  • Salty snacks

Chips, nuts, crackers, crackers and other snacks in bags - they all contain flavorings, the main component of which is salt. Naturally, after such a snack available on every corner, you will want to drink, and then drink more. Are you sure you need this? The toilet is not always available.

  • Sweets

The situation is approximately the same as with salty snacks. Candies, cakes, chocolate bars cause thirst, and this is not always convenient. Children especially like such snacks - try not to allow the child to "nourish" the bar and drink it with sweet carbonated water.

  • Unwashed vegetables and fruits

By themselves, these products are a perfect snack, but only if you buy them beforehand and wash them thoroughly. Otherwise, dirty fruits and vegetables can at best provoke diarrhea, which is quite unpleasant and not very convenient when you are away from home.

  • Alcohol

It is especially dangerous in the heat, when taking even a small amount "to the chest" threatens to lose control over oneself and the situation as a whole. It is hardly worth talking about the dangers that lie in wait at every step of a drunken traveler.

  • Black tea and coffee

Many people believe that these caffeinated drinks "keep" the body in good shape, but they forget that they increase the body's dehydration and increase the risk of vascular thrombosis. And this in the conditions of, for example, air travel threatens with serious troubles. Prefer green tea with mint - a healthier choice.

  • Carbonated sweet drinks

In many people, especially in derivative conditions, they can cause bloating and discomfort in the stomach. In addition, sweet carbonated water is a very high-calorie product and is categorically not recommended for those who care not only about health, but also about maintaining physical fitness. The best choice is simple water with lemon - it perfectly quenches thirst and is useful.

Raw products

Meat . Steak or beefsteak with blood, meat in the Tatar style and other meat delicacies, during the preparation of which the meat was subjected to minimal heat treatment - not every stomach can withstand it. Is yours ready for this?

Fish.  Sushi or oysters are also better to try at home for the first time, and then in restaurants. Not all people perceive these rather specific dishes equally well. Strictly contraindicated for children under 12 years of age.

Desserts Mousse, chilled cocoa, souffle, tiramisu often contain raw eggs. If they are not a familiar product for you, it is better to clarify the composition of the dish with the waiter and replace it with something else. Give preference to desserts in which all products have undergone heat treatment.

Get ready to leave the house

It's clear that temptations lie in wait at every turn, so don't leave home on an empty stomach (unless you're headed to a familiar restaurant and know exactly what you'll be eating in the next hour or two).

Take a small snack with you: favorite vegetables or fruits, dried fruits, nuts, a bottle of water with lemon, fruit juice in a sealed and safe package or green tea with mint.

And be sure to control what, where and how much you eat - do not throw anything into your stomach.
