Learn more information about normal glucose after eating. In this article we'll discuss normal glucose after eating.
For healthy people (without diabetes or prediabetes) the normal fasting / pre-meal blood sugar is 3.8-6.0.
Some of them use ketogenic diets (high fat, almost no carbohydrates) or intermittent fasting. In them, fasting / pre-meal blood sugar may be around and even slightly below the lower limit (3.8).
In these cases, they may or may not have symptoms of low blood sugar (hypoglycaemia).
In healthy people, blood sugar levels after a meal (2 hours after it) are below 7.8 mmol / l. As indicated in the table above.
For diabetics, the target (target) blood sugar values before and after meals depend on age, whether there are hypoglycemias, complications of diabetes, accompanying cardiovascular disease.
