Providing more exercise also reduces the consumption of junk food, according to a new study.

People can change their unhealthy diet by focusing on two main goals - increasing the consumption of fruits and vegetables and reducing free time in front of the screen , explains lead researcher Bonnie Spring. 
 
The study included 204 people, some of whom were overweight. Participants are divided into 4 groups and adhere to a certain lifestyle, which includes: exercise and consumption of more fruits and vegetables; reduced intake of harmful fats and spending less free time in a sitting position; less fat and more exercise or increased fat consumption and low physical activity.
 
After 3 weeks, participants report the results of the regimen. 86% of them try to adhere to the newly adopted health changes in their behavior after the experiment.
 
It was found that increasing physical activity and spending less time watching TV or on the computer helps weight loss and provoke healthier eating patterns , including consumption of less junk food and saturated fats. 
 
The study is published in the Archives Of Internal Medicine .
