Required products :

  • 1 large egg, lightly beaten
  • 135 grams of flour, sifted
  • 130 milliliters of milk
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter
  • 2 tablespoons powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • oil for baking and spreading

Method of preparation :

  • In a deep bowl, mix the flour, sugar, baking powder and salt.
  • In a separate bowl, beat the egg and add the milk and melted butter.
  • Mix the two mixtures well, using a fork, until the lumps of flour are homogenized and disappear.
  • Place the Teflon pan (or non-stick pan) on a medium heat and add a lump of butter.
  • As soon as the butter melts and starts to make bubbles, pour 1 ladle of the mixture into the pan.
  • Do not use an oversized ladle, as the American pancake batter is thicker and spreads thicker on the surface of the pan (it is poured in the middle without occupying the entire bottom area).
  • Bake until it rises to about 1 centimeter and turn on the other side.
  • The pancakes are ready when they turn golden on both sides.
  • Grease the finished pancakes with butter and store them in a deep dish with a lid or in a slightly heated oven.

Topping ideas :

Blueberry jam

Banana and small berries

Chocolate and raspberries

Chocolate pieces and honey

Enjoy!
