Plastic and metal packaging for products. Which packaging for products is the safest for health? What is the harm of plastic bottles and metal cans?
Do you think about how harmful the packaging in which food is stored can be? Experts recommend using food from plastic containers as rarely as possible, preferring glass containers.
Most of the food we buy in supermarkets is packed in plastic or metal containers. So it is very convenient and cheap to store products. It is rare that a manufacturer does not take advantage of such an advantage. Does such packaging harm our health?
What is the danger of metal?Metal packaging preserves the taste of products well, and also protects them from the harmful effects of the environment. However, there is a hidden danger in metal packaging. The fact is that metal cans (for example, cans) contain heavy metals, for example, lead. Naturally, some lead will enter the food, especially if the can is stored for a long time.
Heavy metals have a negative effect on the nervous system, blood cells, and can also contribute to the development of cancer.
Experts do not recommend buying canned goods with dents and rust in any case.
Plastic bottles
Plastic bottles are very convenient, but at the same time they are dangerous, both for health and for the environment.
If you buy mineral water in a plastic bottle, you can use such a container only once. The fact is that over time, plastic begins to release harmful substances into the water.
Many plastic products contain toxic substances. They become especially active when heated. Therefore, in no case should you pour hot drinks (for example, compotes) into plastic bottles.
The best container is glass
The most useful packaging is glass. Glass is inert, it does not release any harmful substances into food. The advantage of a glass container is that it can be used almost endlessly until it breaks.
When buying food in a glass container, make sure that there are no chips on it. And if any damage appears, the bottle or can must be thrown away. Otherwise, glass particles can get into the food and damage the gastrointestinal tract when it is consumed.
